How different cultures view coming of age
This video displays how different cultures view coming of age, and what it means to become a man. In this video it shows how in order to become a man in this Amazon tribe. Twenty times, for ten minutes each time, men are required to wear gloves filled with bullet ants, which are said to excruciatingly painful. When the bullet ant bites you, it is said to feel like the sting of a bee, only thirty time stronger. The chief during the video says, "If you live your life without suffering anything or without any kind of effort, it wont be worth anything to you." This can be related to many other cultural coming of age rituals, and experiences.

A journey of four young boys coming of age
This youtube video is a movie trailer for the movie Stand By Me, a movie featuring Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, and Corey Feldman. In this movie trailer it displays the story of four boys who hear of a twelve year old boy who has went missing and whose dead body has been seen. They go out into the woods along railroad tracks in hopes of seeing a dead body. Four very different boys, through near death experiences, leaches, and bullies, in this coming of age movie show what not only physical experiences, but emotional experience will throw you into adulthood and maturity.
